Introduction

SBC (“SBC”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a technology company based in the Sultanate of Oman that designs, builds and supports ERP, artificial intelligence and blockchain solutions for businesses. We are committed to protecting the personal data entrusted to us by our website visitors, clients, partners and job applicants.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website sbc.om, our sales and support communications, and the software solutions we deliver, unless a separate agreement with a client states otherwise. We process personal data in line with Oman’s Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree 6/2022) and its executive regulations.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you contact us, book a consultation, request a proposal or download a whitepaper, we may collect your name, job title, company, email address, phone number and the details of your enquiry.

Client and project information. When we deliver a project, we receive business contacts, requirements, documents and access to systems needed to design, build, migrate, test and support your solution.

Website usage data. We automatically collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and referring pages, used to keep the website secure and improve its performance.

Recruitment information. If you apply for a role at SBC, we process your CV, contact details and any information you choose to share for the purpose of evaluating your application.

Data we process on behalf of clients

When we build or operate ERP, AI or blockchain systems for a client, the data inside those systems (for example employee, customer, supplier, financial or operational records) belongs to the client. In these cases the client acts as the data controller and SBC acts as a data processor, handling that data only on the client’s documented instructions and under the confidentiality and data processing terms of our agreement.

How we use your information

We use personal data only for clear and legitimate purposes, including to:

  • respond to enquiries, prepare proposals and deliver the services you request;
  • design, develop, implement, host and support client solutions;
  • provide training, technical support and service updates;
  • manage contracts, invoicing and our business relationship with you;
  • protect the security and integrity of our website, systems and client environments;
  • send relevant updates or insights, where you have agreed to receive them;
  • comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations in Oman.

AI and your data

Client data used to build or run AI features, such as forecasting, document processing or AI assistants, is used only to deliver that client’s solution. We do not use client data to train public or third-party AI models, and we deploy AI in private or client-controlled environments wherever the project requires it. Access to AI outputs follows the same role-based permissions as the underlying systems.

Blockchain and personal data

Records written to a blockchain are designed to be permanent and cannot easily be changed or deleted. For this reason, our blockchain solutions keep personal data off-chain in secure databases and store only encrypted references, hashes or proofs on the ledger. This allows us to provide tamper-proof audit trails while still respecting data protection rights such as correction and deletion.

Data hosting and international transfers

Where required, we host client solutions on infrastructure located in Oman or on the client’s own premises. If personal data must be transferred outside Oman, for example when using a cloud or software provider, we do so only in accordance with applicable law and with appropriate contractual and technical safeguards in place.

Data security

We apply security measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we handle, including encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, multi-factor authentication, secure development practices, code reviews, audit logging, regular backups and continuous monitoring. Our team members are bound by confidentiality obligations.

While we work hard to protect your information, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a personal data breach occurs, we will notify affected clients and the relevant authorities as required by law.

Sharing of information

We do not sell personal data. We share it only when necessary with:

  • trusted service providers, such as hosting, email and communication tools, who act on our instructions;
  • technology partners involved in delivering a specific project, with the client’s knowledge;
  • professional advisers, such as auditors and legal counsel;
  • government or regulatory authorities where required by law.

All third parties are required to protect personal data and use it only for the purposes we specify.

Data retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, the duration of our contract, or as required by law, for example for accounting and tax records. Client data is returned or securely deleted at the end of an engagement in line with the client agreement. Unsuccessful job applications are retained for a limited period unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • know whether we process your personal data and request a copy of it;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • request deletion of your data where it is no longer needed;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, including for marketing communications;
  • object to or restrict certain processing;
  • lodge a complaint with the competent authority in Oman.

If your data is held within a system we operate for one of our clients, we will forward your request to that client and support them in responding.
